LAN infrastructure and network protocols for gaming halls

A reliable local network is the basis for the stable operation of the entire gaming hall. All devices, from terminals to cash registers, communicate in real time via LAN infrastructure, which requires a well-thought-out topology, fault-tolerant protocols and secure information transfer. A properly built network is the key to high speed, accuracy of accounting and the absence of downtime.

Game Room LAN Components

ElementAppointment
Routers/SwitchesUnify terminals, servers, and peripherals
Management serverCentral point of data reception, processing and logging
Terminals and machinesEthernet Connected Network Clients
Firewall/VLAN segmentationNetwork separation to improve security
UPS and PoE SwitchesPower and fault protection of key network nodes

Network Standards and Features

Gigabit Ethernet (1 Gbps) - the minimum standard for gaming halls

CAT6/ CAT6A - Low Delay Transaction

Wi-Fi 5/6 - used only for administrative access, not for gaming terminals

Failover routing - in case of a break, one point takes the load on itself

Segment isolation - gaming terminals do not see the cash register, the panel does not see the server, etc.

Network protocols

ProtocolAppointment
TCP/IPBasic exchange protocol between terminals and server
UDP (Op.) Fast transmission for real-time events (e.g. live logs)
HTTPS / TLSSecure connection to cloud or external APIs
JSON / XML APIGaming and payment data exchange standards
SNMP / SyslogDevice health monitoring, logging

LAN Security

Encrypt critical data within and across nodes

Authorization by IP, MAC and session key

Real-time activity monitoring

Filtering ports and accesses according to security rules

Anti-fraud barriers at the network level: protection against equipment substitution

Opportunities for the operator

Centralized monitoring of all network nodes

Remote diagnostics and fast response to failures

Nondisruptively connect new devices

Integration with cash registers, BI systems and external APIs

Scalability - Increase the number of devices without sacrificing speed

LAN infrastructure is an invisible but critical playroom frame. Without a reliable network, there will be no stable rates or accurate statistics. We design and configure networks with load, safety and scale in mind to ensure every room is running smoothly - 24/7.
